Spooky Magic Cauldron Plate

Enjoy this last minute Halloween appetizer! It's a great way to break up all the sugary treats and incorporate some much needed vitamins for the holiday.



  • Cake plate, or a cutting board or plate of your choosing.

  • 1 Acorn squash, or a Halloween bowl of your choice!

  • 3 Bell peppers (red, yellow, orange)

  • Box of cheese straws, or crackers or pretzels

  • Guacamole or green dip of your choice (Example recipe included below!)

Green Dip

  • 1 Cup sour cream

  • 1/2 Cup basil pesto

  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 Cup parmesan cheese


  1. Cut the top off of the acorn squash. Cut around the top and scoop out the flesh. Set on top of the cake plate or your serving dish. (This is what you'll serve your dip in!)

  2. Wash and dry the bell peppers. Cut them into strips and arrange them in a circle around the dip bowl.

  3. Add the cheese straws and fill in any gaps.

  4. Mix all the ingredients for the green dip together or blend by using a food processor. Refrigerate until you're ready to serve and then add to the acorn squash or your bowl.
